tuesday night [31 Mar 2009|11:16pm]
4 cans of grolsch. 1/2 gram of the green.
i've always dreamed of those moments we end up reading about, from the people who feel things strongest. those distinct events that never really become memories because they never leave our presence. but how often does/can this really happen to us? in truth, and without stretching for the ideals while trimming their origins of the excess, that which doesn't/never quite fit/s. rarely for me, i know that. i accept that. but i've never felt blocked off from it; there was simply never the right event.

perhaps it takes a certain mindset, certain particular coordinates along whatever experiences. maybe i don't know and never will.

but i just saw The Idiots after seeing a few Von Trier films and I can honestly say that those striking moments can still happen, and i'm glad that it has happened to me.

nothing means anything unless you can feel it, i think. but i'm not sure yet.

grievances [22 Sep 2008|01:13pm]
I had to stop my hand from going to facebook, where I had originally intended to post this. It's a sad thing, but this is my first instinct with the internet. I sit down to research a paper and, before I've decided which search engine to use, I've already magically gone straight to facebook, a useless gesture considering that would've been the umpteenth time I'd checked it that day.
this is all fine and grand, and we all love to rue the facebook for our various reasons, yet none of us can distance ourselves from it for long enough unless there are physical impediments. My friends page here never moves; it crawls at monthly intervals.
But regardless of all this useless complaining, I'm still astounded. Somehow as I make my way through university these papers seem to be getting smaller and smaller. I have papers due this semester that are under 600 words in length. 600 words? What the fuck can someone say in 600 words? I haven't had to write a paper that short since grade 11, and even then I'd exceed the word limit because it's ridiculous. I see my education winding up backwards and pretty soon I'll be reiterating the alphabet and taking juice breaks.
Maybe this is why McGill students make fun of my university and call it a community college.
At least they're putting up some really nice looking buildings... most likely designed by engineering students from another institution.

so i was feeling real down-in-the-dumps like earlier, but it turns out that so does everyone. and what's better is that my humdrum mood is totally reversible, and would be incredibly easy to do so.

that is the story of how i discovered that i only seek happiness when i know that others have failed miserably doing so.

things are looking up!

If I were a betting man [07 Feb 2008|05:28am]
[ music | your FACE! ]

I wager with extreme comfort that by December 2008 there will be a black president leading the states.

i'm still not sure whether or not i approve of this soliciting of image, but i do believe that obama, while clandestinely wielding the race card and is essentially only an idealist, has the power to reignite politics as an forum of intrigue and excitement, which is why so many people beneath the voting age love him.

i do however hate will.i.am and am glad he never will be president.i.am

. . . but then again you never can tell.

Holy Shit.

I can't believe this exists and I never knew.

Did you guys know about this?

If you did and didn't tell me I'll be pretty upset.

Not THAT upset, but upset enough to give you a good scolding.

Actually, never mind. I'm not to familiar with how to scold somebody.

DeLorean de Dieu [03 Jan 2008|10:43pm]
[ music | White Tar - The Bronx ]

So let's be honest for a second here: absolutely everybody (and I do mean EVERYBODY) wishes they could travel through time, specifically according to Back to the Future rules and not Terminator rules and definitely not Timerider rules, which are just silly. Why wouldn't you? It's a legitimate desire, and even Einstein thinks its possible, and who are you to disagree with Einstein. THE GUY INVENTED THE FREAKING INTERNET!!!

But seriously, let's get down to business. I've been sitting on a question of paramount importance and I appreciate that it demands painstaking contemplation, but you've had your whole life to think it over so this is your opportunity to entertain that(/those) ridiculous fantasy(/ies)...

if i could travel through time i would go back to 3000 BCE to witness the birth of organized religion, and then to 1955 to help Marty McFly not cockblock his dad.

What about you fellas?

i feel semi-human of late.

part of me knows that it's entirely my responsibility to change that at all, and another part of me isn't willing to do anything to facilitate that kind of change.

seriously, when you break me down on paper i only qualify as human in the biological division. now that's depressing.

[02 Jul 2007|12:50am]
[ mood | ekpyrotic ]
[ music | cut your ribbon - sparta ]

so after watching Brian Greene's three-hour PBS special "The Elegant Universe" I now have a basic introductory comprehension of preliminary String Theory in a nutshell. unfortunately String Theory is more focussed on the universe than on nutshells, so i have no idea what the fuck is going on. although apparently there is a working theory out there that the big bang was actually the result of a collision of two multi-dimensional branes drifting through the bulk, and that there is a potential cyclic pattern to our universe which may never have began and may never end in a very mind-numbingly abstract way. whatever, me and ernie had that same basic idea years ago (cue Bluthton). no seriously though, we developed a notion of a second temporal dimension which flowed backward rather than forward which would allow the universe to expand to a certain point until it began to recede, in which case the relation between the two dimensions of time would invert and time would roll backwards until we hit the big crunch, which would actually just initiate a second big bang.

we called it "Phoenix Theory". i think it sounds much more poetic than the Ekpyrotic universe.

now if only String Theory could give me an idea of what to do now that i apparently have less friends in montreal than i thought i did...

p.s.
i love how livejournal now has a spellcheck built into this updating text box. now no one has an excuse for spelling mistakes.

i also love how this spellcheck fails to recognize livejournal as a word.

yeah, i was wrong about that erotic fiction thing. i thought it would be like harlequin novels, it turns out it's a lot closer to dear penthouse articles. i can't write like that, specifically because i don't feel comfortable using 92% of the words i found in their sample writing. it's filthy and unchristian. ima gotta start up a whole new spanish inquisition on these sodomites.

hardcover hardons [10 May 2007|05:19am]
[ music | dangerdoom - perfect hair II ]

tomorrow i have to remember to email this ad on craigslist that's offering money for erotic novels.

i have one planned out...it's called "Mechanics of the Heart".

it's about a woman and her lover who works as a mechanic. i'm researching for it by reading a romance novel entitled "Nobody But You" which is about some stupid bitch and some lame ass private eye who are constantly at odds with each other's personal ethos yet somehow always end up almost doing it. Let me read you an excerpt from it:

By the old Ratings, i'd say this ranks between 14A and 17A )

I'd also highly recommend that you go to this link here. it's disturbing and i have no idea how to react to it, but if you're jewish you might get a kick out of it.

http://www.break.com/index/jewish-girl-prank-calls-her-parents.html

i'd make it so you could click on the link, except i'm too lazy to look up how to do that so i won't. i typically avoid pictures and that thing (whatever it's called) because i follow a spartan tactic to writing. tough as nails, bitch. tough as nails.
